INTERNATIONAL ORDERS:
CUSTOMS CHARGE £45.00 PER JEAN
COVERS ALL LOCAL TAXES, DUTIES AND TARIFFS. MEANING THE PRICE AT CHECKOUT IS ALL YOU WILL PAY.
Prior to the UK leaving the EU in 2021, the 2025 introduction of tariffs in the USA, and the withdrawal of the de minimis rule, we never needed to apply an extra charge for taxes, duties and tariffs on orders heading overseas. Sadly, we are now having to deal with all three of these challenges. Despite what the politicians may say, governments do not pay the charges. It’s the person that imports the product that pays the customs charges. These charges would put companies out of business very quickly, so the charge is always ultimately paid by the consumer. Most companies would just leave it to you the customer to pick up the bill, but we feel this is wrong for two reasons;
1) the final costs are unknown, so the customer wouldn’t know the final charge until after the goods have landed in their country.
2) In most cases this second charge would come a week or two after the original purchase. This makes the customer feel like they are being charged twice for the same purchase.
We therefore believe it is clearer and much preferable to apply the charge for taxes, duties and tariffs at the checkout. The customer then knows exactly what they are going to pay in total, with no extra second charge at a later date.
We deal with ALL the fees, whatever they end up being. The average cost for taxes, duties and tariffs for a pair of jeans with armour is around £90.00, although this can differ. The final costs will not be fully known until the goods have landed.
If you do not want us to pay the taxes, duties and tariffs for you, please just let us know, and we will refund the £45 charge. PLEASE NOTE: This option means ALL taxes, duties and tariffs are the responsibility of you the customer.
