COVERS ALL LOCAL TAXES, DUTIES AND TARIFFS. MEANING THE PRICE AT CHECKOUT IS ALL YOU WILL PAY.
Prior to the UK leaving the EU in 2021, the 2025 introduction of tariffs in the USA, and the withdrawal of the de minimis rule, we never needed to apply an extra charge for taxes, duties and tariffs on orders heading overseas. Sadly, we are now having to deal with all three of these challenges. Despite what the politicians may say, governments do not pay the charges. It’s the person that imports the product that pays the customs charges. These charges would put companies out of business very quickly, so the charge is always ultimately paid by the consumer. Most companies would just leave it to you the customer to pick up the bill, but we feel this is wrong for two reasons;
1) the final costs are unknown, so the customer wouldn’t know the final charge until after the goods have landed in their country.
2) In most cases this second charge would come a week or two after the original purchase. This makes the customer feel like they are being charged twice for the same purchase.
We therefore believe it is clearer and much preferable to apply the charge for taxes, duties and tariffs at the checkout. The customer then knows exactly what they are going to pay in total, with no extra second charge at a later date.
We deal with ALL the fees, whatever they end up being. The average cost for taxes, duties and tariffs for a pair of jeans with armour is around £90.00, although this can differ. The final costs will not be fully known until the goods have landed.
If you do not want us to pay the taxes, duties and tariffs for you, please just let us know, and we will refund the £45 charge. PLEASE NOTE: This option means ALL taxes, duties and tariffs are the responsibility of you the customer.
Owners of Hood Jeans, husband and wife team Chris and Julie Easterford, are the proud recipients of the first UKCA marked certificates awarded by SATRA Technology.
The ‘United Kingdom Conformity Assessed’ (UKCA) mark is the new conformity assessment mark for the UK and will need to be placed on products as a means of showing conformance with applicable UK legislation, by a UK Government Approved Body (such as SATRA).
The legislation came into force on 1st, January 2021 and manufacturers and suppliers of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) have a year to transition to this new certification system after which time the CE mark will no longer be recognised by the GB market.
Hood Jeans received their UKCA mark certificates for a range of jeans that offer protection to motorcycle riders. #ukca #satra #ppe
Demand for our award winning EN 17092-2:2020 CLASS AAA CE and UKCA certified motorcycle jeans has never been so high. This success has stretched our stock levels, meaning we are low of jeans in some styles, colours, and sizes.
Please check availability by clicking on the drop-down menu, if the size does not appear it indicates that size is currently out of stock. The size may well be available in another colour or style. We are currently holding around two thousand jeans in stock, so it is worth checking the availability of different options of our jeans.
The next re-stock of all jeans is set for early November 2025. If the jean you require is out of stock, please contact Julie at sales@hoodjeans.co.uk. Julie will put your name against a pair from the next batch, and will contact you in October once the jeans are ready.
